Our work

Complementary areas of work.Initiatives that connect people.

Our work brings together five strategic focus areas and five families of initiatives. The focus areas define the fields in which the Foundation works; the initiatives give cooperation a practical form.

Our five strategic focus areas

  • Culture and heritage

Encourage reciprocal discovery of Saudi and European cultural expression. Visual arts, photography, design, craftsmanship, literature and heritage create opportunities for encounters between creators, institutions and audiences. Understanding the context of artworks and sharing their meaning are central to this approach.

  • Education and talent

Connect institutions, teachers, researchers, students and professionals through knowledge-sharing. Academic exchanges, mentoring and the exchange of practices open opportunities for learning that combine educational quality, skills development and intercultural discovery.

  • Innovation and entrepreneurship

Bring researchers, entrepreneurs, businesses and support organisations into dialogue around practical needs. Experience-sharing, working sessions and complementary expertise create opportunities to explore ideas and prepare joint projects, with attention to real uses and each participant’s responsibilities.

  • Economy and investment

Facilitate understanding of economic environments and exchanges among businesses, experts, entrepreneurs and investors. Sector meetings and thematic discussions help identify shared interests. This framework for dialogue does not constitute an investment offer or investment advice.

  • Dialogue and mutual understanding

Create the conditions for respectful, informed exchanges. Understanding cultural contexts, expectations and professional practices helps move beyond simplified representations and prepare lasting collaborations. Listening and diverse experiences are central to this work.

Our five families of initiatives

These formats provide a framework for our work. Content, intended audiences and participation arrangements are defined for each initiative with the stakeholders involved.

  • Exhibitions and cultural seasons

Combine encounters with artworks, meetings with creators and cultural interpretation. An exhibition, conversation or workshop can share artistic approaches and connect audiences with Saudi and European cultural expression.

  • Meetings and forums

Bring complementary expertise together around a clear topic. Conferences, roundtables and professional exchanges provide a structured setting for discussion, with attention to preparation, the quality of dialogue and follow-up.

  • Educational programmes and scholarships

Design knowledge-sharing, mentoring and exchange programmes with education stakeholders. Any scholarship scheme has its own conditions, including funding and selection arrangements. Contact the Foundation for programme information or to propose educational cooperation.

  • Residencies and creative work

Offer artists, designers, researchers and initiative leaders a framework for research and shared creation. Exchanges between practices, support and the presentation of work are tailored to each approach.

  • Roadshows and travelling events

Bring ideas, artworks and experiences to different places. Travelling formats are developed with local stakeholders and adapted to each venue, its audiences and working languages.
